PostHeaderIcon how should learn how to play guitar fast?

i love to learn how to play i told you so by boys like girls on guitar help mee

Brandon over there is partially right.

Practice, practice, practice.

Three times, because it’s not enough just to get it right the first time. You need repetition to drill it into your head.

This might sound like it doesn’t apply, but it does. When you’re giving a speech, and you want the people you’re speaking to to actually walk away from it with an idea of what you were trying to tell them in their heads, here’s what you do: First, you have to prepare them for what it is you’re trying to tell them. Then, you have to tell them. Finally, you have to tell them that you’ve told them.

If this paragraph looks like I’m just rephrasing what I just said, you’re right. Because for real, dude, it takes a lot of practice.

Lessons are fastest, learn how to read tabs (www.ultimate-guitar.com) and don’t get discouraged when at first you suck because that’s a hurdle that every guitarist has to overcome, with no (not one) exceptions to the rule. Oh, and did I mention it takes a lot of practice?

PostHeaderIcon Is Learn How to Play the Guitar by Phill Capone a good book?

I want to start learning the guitar and i saw this book in borders, does anybody know if this book is a good one to start learning with?

You could buy it if you want, but you can go onto YouTube and get online lessons for absolutely free.

PostHeaderIcon How to play a acoustic guitar?

I am learning how to play the guitar and i would like to know the most important chords you have to know to learn songs.
And i would also wanted to know how long it took people to learn by them self?
If you answer my question i would like to say thank you so much!

The most commonly used chords that I suggest learning first are:
A major
C major
D major
E major
G major

A minor
D minor
E minor

You would be surprised at how many songs are entirely based on just 3 or 4 of those chords.

As to how long, figure on at least a year to get your finger strength into good shape and develop a decent strum. I’d say practice like 15 minutes a day to start with – and after a while move to practicing 30 minutes a day (skipping a day here and there doesn’t hurt anything).

Best wishes from Seattle and Happy New Year :-)

PostHeaderIcon Does any one know any tips for someone who has no idea how to play guitar?

i want to learn guitar and if i could just get some basics my life would be easier.

The thinnest string is the 1st string.. next to it is the 2nd, then 3rd….bla bla bla…the thickest one is the 6th(last) string..from 1st to 6th they are named as E A D G B E ..in the names of the notes they are normally tuned to..

here are some exercises my teacher gave me to do in the first week…
You have to practice in the given order… only after doing previous one(at least 15minuits) and when you are satisfied that you can do that exercise without mistakes , go to the next one…

1.)Play each string "once" with your pick in the order E A D G B E.. and then continue backwards without stopping E B G D A E…(1 to 6 then 6 to 1) (you dont need the left arm for these ex:)

2.)Play the same thing but "doubling" …E E A A D D G G B B E E continue E E B B G G D D A A E E …

3.) now you know what to do … Play the pattern "tripling"..

4.) Play "four times"..

These exercises are to make you familiar with the guitar’s string locations and after this you would be able to pick the strings without looking at them, which will help you to concentrate on the notes you play with the left hand…

but after all the best thing is to get a teacher…….

These web sites will also help you very much..

PostHeaderIcon how long does it take to learn to play a guitar or drums?

how many lessons does it take before your really good at playing the guitar or drums?

There’s a rule of thumb called the 10,000 Hour Rule, which says that it takes about 10,000 hours to master something new. But that’s not the point – if you’re enjoying the journey then it won’t matter how long it takes.

PostHeaderIcon WHY DOES EVERYONE HERE WANT TO LEARN HOW TO PLAY GUITAR?

cant they just make an article here. like a book on how to play guitar. or a section or something. i love the performing arts section but its just gay seeing so many of the same question

" i got this acoustic guitar today and i really wanna learn how to play my favorite taylor swift songs "

seriously yahoo do something

i was JUST thinking of posting a question asking this.
i don’t come to Performing arts much but when i do there seems to be alot of Q’s about guitar in comparison to ”acting/violin” etc..

eh most people that want to play an instrument be it to look cool, to learn, to have it as a skill, to be a musician etc pick up a guitar.
supposedly 90% of self taught guitarists quit due to lack of direction & frustration (mind you they say 80% of statistics are made up ;P)

if you think this is bad you should check the martial arts section, every 2nd question is ”what martial arts is best for me/how do i become a MMA fighter”

PostHeaderIcon How can I start learning how to play acoustic guitar?

My friends said if I can play guitar, it would be perfect.
So I wanna ask u guys here how to learn acoustic guitar fast?

If u wanna Learn How To Play Guitar, u must have a strong will and persistance first!
Second, it’s much better for u to have a teacher guiding u. Of course, it consumes money and time. But u can get an ebook with video lessons. Among those tutorials, jamorama course has a serial lessons ranging from beginner, mid-level, high-level, rock, blue etc. It will show u how to play guitar by pictures and videos. If u keep learning from jamorama, playing guitar will not be ur dream any more:)

PostHeaderIcon What should I get and do to learn from scratch how to play the guitar?

I’ve wanted to learn how to play the guitar for sometime now and I’m sicking of stalling. I would like to play the electric guitar, but that because I prefer the sound of the electric guitar then the acoustic. I was looking at some different started packs, and I’m not to sure what I’m should be looking at. If someone can give me some advice on a starter pack to get? Also a good book? And if someone can tell me how I should learn how to play, preferably self taught?

This might sound really stupid, but my sister tried to do that and she used Guitar for Dummies and it helped her learn the chords. It actually helped her a lot but she didn’t get that far because she gives up way too easily. I’ve played flute for a few years (although sometimes i really wish i would have picked electric guitar) so i know what i’m talking about. As soon you learn the chords and start actually playing, focus on differant scales to get started and then when you get those figured out, you can start playing short songs.
