Can a 5 year old learn to play guitar?
http://www.samedaymusic.com/product–SQU335101
i see my neice this summer she's 5 and i wanna give her a fantastic gift
of music. And a journal too.
She's in panama so i'm not sure if i can bring it on the plane.
She likes hello kitty btw.
So that's why.
Can they learn at that age?
I would actually recommend learning piano at that young of an age. I actually did start taking piano lessons when I was 5 years old (thank you so much, mom), and I completely agree when people say that learning any instrument is much easier when you know how to play the piano.
If your niece decides in the future that she wants to play the guitar, she'll have a good understanding already of notes and the way they work, which is important for learning any instrument.

ofcoz
why not

why not try. i started learning violin when i was 5, and i play gutar now, and its alot easier to learn, i bet she could learn.

I learned about 2 chords when I was about 5 of 6. I kinda lost interest back then but, I guess if you plant the seed early, she might be more likely to pursue music later.

I don't play guitar, but my music teacher said she thinks it's a bad idea to start learning an instrument really early and she'll only teach kids 8 years old and up. If I started learning my instruments at 5, I would have gotten frustrated and quit.

if she really wants to and concentrates she sure can!
